There are a couple of dynamics at play for an artist while performing an album release show. While it is refreshing to play new material, there tends to also be some level of nervousness with not knowing how an audience is going to respond upon first listen. Local singer/songwriter Amanda Grace chose a more balanced approach with her “Better Life” EP Release show at The Warming House on December 6th by also including some of her more established songs and even a Holiday classic.

She began on piano with an acoustic solo approach, which was effective in showing off her vocal skill for a strong start to the set. Keeping things loose and fun, Grace invited special guest Joyanne Parker up for an impromptu duet that also inspired a bit of holiday cheer. She slung on her custom painted electric guitar and dove into a full band presentation of the "Better Life" material. The energy level was elevated on the new tunes and although not surprising, "Los Angeles" ended up being a sure standout.
