Lakes Jam 2017 might best be summed up by the writing on 2 banners that framed the giant stage,
"3-Days, 15 Bands,1 Big Party". The annual 3-day summer music festival in Brainerd, MN delivered a solid line-up that attracted Rock and Modern Country fans from surrounding areas including the Twin Cities.

Significant headliners Jake Owen and Chris Janson were a good representation for the current Modern Country sound and matched well with long established acts Trace Adkins and Montgomery Gentry. Skillet is a really entertaining live band and should change any impression you may have had that a Christian band can't Rock. Bret Michaels continues to be a good draw in these parts and Buckcherry can still deliver the goods. It's also Minnesota talent represented in Kat Perkins, Chris Hawkey, Maiden Dixie and the Fabulous Armadillos.

I think there is plenty of upside ahead for Lakes Jam and they've already announced Brantley Gilbert and the return of Locash for next year. We will be looking forward to see what else they are able to add to the 2018 line-up.
