The Minnesota State Fair enjoyed a strong kick-off to their 12-day season yesterday. Good weather on a day they call Thrifty Thursday brought out the crowds and there was great energy everywhere you looked with an overall fun feeling vibe.

My particular interests were satisfied with a ton of live music taking place throughout the day at all ends of the fairgrounds. There really is a little something for everyone ranging from local College vocal groups to big name national acts. Carlene Carter was a standout at the Leinie Lodge Bandshell along with headliner Tower of Power - both of which can be seen again today 8/24. The Grandstand was geared toward a younger audience for its opening night with Niall Horan from One Direction fame and rising Country star Maren Morris.
