Victor Wooten is my favorite musician. There's no denying he's one of the top bass players currently walking the earth, but dig a little deeper and you will learn there's so many additional things that make him extraordinary.

 

Literally raised to fill the family band's need for a bass player, Wooten was a student of music almost immediately. He has developed his own unique insight into how music should be taught, which he has shared for years at his annual bass and nature camps as well as writing about it in "The Music Lesson".

Wooten has been a part of many projects over the years and on his most recent stop at the Dakota Jazz Club was promoting his Jazz Trio with fellow elite players Dennis Chambers (drums) and Bob Franceschini.
